So last night (well techniqually today, but we went out last night) was my roommate's birthday
and we went out to this really nice little restaurant. Well some of the girls that was with us knew the wait staff and the cook, and since it was our friends birthday, they kept giving us free wine, free champagne, free appetizers, it was great! I even found a red sparkling wine that I kinda liked! It was a blast! I had this calzoni for dinner that was FLIPPIN HUGE!!!
Today classes were good, finally started painting in painting class. And Italian is going ok. Tonight I went to a meeting about community service in town through the school. There are three different options I'm looking at. One is donating photographs to an institution that pays to have them framed for hospitals (i think around the world) to help make it better for the patients. That one I can just put my pictures in for, so that's easy. The other two actually require work. There is one place that does work with Art Therapy, and I think that would be absolutely great for me! Except one problem, it is majorly, if not entirely, Italian speaking and I don't know if I'm comfortable with being in a situation where I won't be able to understand what is being asked of me. The other one is giving tours (in english) of the local churches, like the Duomo, Santa Croce, and others. These are places I would normally have to pay to get into, and I'd get to take people around on tours of the buildings and the art work, which I think would be so amazing! I will keep you all posted on which I choose.
Still working on possibly going to Venice this weekend. Will write more about that later if it happens.
Grandi immagini! Molto bello.
ReplyDeleteI recommend the tour guide as you will meet so many people from all over the world. And you might get to wear a cool nerdy tour-guide hat! sia buono.
