Easter Sunday! Buona Pasqua!

So trying to make it to Easter Mass was an adventure. We woke up early and made breakfast of crepes with nutella and fruit (amazing!) and mamosas :D Then we were trying to figure out the day before when mass was, we figured out that the there was something going on at 10:15 which was a firework display and then mass at 11. So we went to the fireworks thing. There was a parade that morning and we watched while it pulled into the square and then waited for them to finish setting up this cart that they had, it had been brought into the square by 4 giant white oxen. The cart had all these fireworks attached to it and they shoot one firework that is supposed to be in the shape of a dove into the church, if it makes it all the way to the alter, then it will be a good year for Florence. Not sure if it made it or not, we never heard. After that, which was a mob scene in itself, we tried to make it into the chruch for mass. Yeah, didn't work out that great. Took forever to get through the mob of people, there was one point where the guy behind me was pushing so hard to get through that I was being forced to push on the girl in front of me and she couldn't move, so I wasn't even standing anymore, I was being held up, it was that bad! Well we missed the beginning and were in the back where we couldn't hear anything and really couldn't understand anything because it was in Italian. So after a bit we left, and I was trying to get over almost passing out because it was so croweded in the square and so hot that I was about 2 minutes away from passing out several times. So we then went and got gelato at the greatest place ever that my roommate has known about for a while but I just found that day. Then we chilled and I got to talk to everyone from home on skype!!! I had such a great time talking to everyone! I miss you all so much!
